Brian joined us prior to the 2009 harvest as our Assistant Winemaker, managing the day to day cellar and lab activities. After graduating from California State University, Fresno with a bachelor’s degree in enology, Brian was drawn back to the Willamette Valley by his passion for cool climate varietals, especially Pinot Noir. Brian honed his winemaking skills as cellarmaster for Chehalem Winery for three years, as well as a harvest in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Brian brings passion and energy to Penner-Ash, with just the right balance of fun and dedication to making the best wines possible.
When Brian steals away from the cellar, you will most likely find him at home with his wife Christina, and their little one Jackson. Brian's other interests include cooking, gardening, sampling Portland's cuisine and beers, outdoor sports of just about every kind, and cheering on his Oregon Ducks!
