2002 Vintage/harvest Year

THE SUMMER WAS PLEASANT AND WARM with a few days of rain to assist the vines through the ripening phase. As harvest approached the clusters were deeply colored and full of intense flavors.

Only once did rain threaten the vintage of the decade. We made the decision to let the fruit hang, choosing flavor over weather. We monitored the weather hourly on the internet and pushed back the picking date based on hourly information we received. Fortunately, our weather watch worked!

2002 Goldschmidt Vineyards pinot noir

Aromas of bright cherry and crushed red raspberry with a creamy sweet core of fruit in the palate. Finish is well balanced and shows the purity of fruit from the Red Hills of Dundee.
