2003 Vintage/harvest Year

The 2003 growing season started off early - bud break started the first week in April. As June rolled around the weather dried out and the temperatures climbed.

We started harvest on September 20th with a young vine site, then weirdly enough, harvested our syrah’s from Southern Oregon and the Columbia River Gorge. We finished off the Pinot Noir harvest by the 4th of October - a compressed harvest that required long days over a two week period. The 2003 vintage gave us wines displaying purity of fruit, lush mid-mouth feel, ripe tannins and great structure.

2002 Seven Springs Vineyard Pinot Noir

Very dark dense blackberry and blueberries in the nose, with a lushness that is oily, typical of fruit from the Eola Hills region. The fruit in the mouth is ripe and sweet with a smokey vanilla barrel note. The finish is long and lingering with juicy fruit and chewy tannins.
